My Story
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! My name is Maria Donata Radaza, and I’m a passionate Special Education Teacher in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a master’s degree in education. Born and raised in Tacloban City, Philippines, I bring nearly two decades of experience teaching special education—ADHD or with learning disabilities and children with autism—and working with deaf students at the elementary and middle school levels. My mission has always been clear: to serve God’s special children and support teachers like you in finding the time and resources to create meaningful, engaging lesson plans.
Teaching is both my calling and my joy. While I currently dedicate my days to my students in Clark County, Nevada, my heart beats for the deaf community back in the Philippines. My husband and I plan to return there when I retire, where I dream of building a foundation to support the deaf by equipping them with the tools and opportunities they deserve. The lessons I’ve learned here in the United States fuel my passion for empowering others, and I look forward to collaborating with existing foundations to bring this vision to life.
In addition to teaching, I serve as a Union representative, helping new J-1 teachers navigate challenges like housing, transportation, and making connections in the community. It’s my way of giving back to the teaching community and standing by Philippine educators as they embark on their journey.
This website is an extension of my mission—a space where I share lesson plans I’ve created to engage and inspire students. I firmly believe that engagement is the key to learning. When a child is interested and involved, their behavior naturally aligns with their enthusiasm. That’s why the lessons you’ll find here are thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity and bring out the best in every student.
Beyond the classroom, I’m a vibrant and multi-talented individual. I love to choreograph interpretive dance, dancing, singing, and playing sports like badminton, volleyball, and bowling. I thrive on teamwork and cherish the joy of helping children discover their hidden talents. In my experience, disabilities often mask incredible strengths, and I find fulfillment and accomplishment in guiding my students to transform challenges into triumphs.
